Philippe Paya

Chairperson

Philippe is a seasoned technology leader with a background in communications engineering and information systems. He has led major digital transformations for organisations such as TradeMe Insurance, Mercury Energy, and NIB. With expertise in enterprise modelling, public cloud, and data transformation, Philippe brings strategic thinking and a problem-solving mindset to the Board. His motivation to join New Dawn stems from his daughter Ariane and a desire to give back to the community.

Maureen
Buchanan

Secretary

Maureen is a senior advisor with a background in land economic. Her career has spanned property management for nearly 400 not-for-profits and governance support for local politicians. A skilled project manager, Maureen brings deep insight into how governance and operations can work together. She joined the Board when her son became a New Dawn client, aiming to contribute meaningfully to its future.

Tim
Dobson

Treasurer

Tim is a creative technologist and award-winning commercial photographer with extensive branding and marketing experience. He previously ran his own photography business, serving several iconic New Zealand brands, and is currently Head of Creative for The Warehouse. Tim joined New Dawn to support its growth ambitions, bringing fiscally responsible governance, strategic brand guidance, and strong business acumen to the board.

Jackson
Vogt

Board Member

Jackson is a primary school teacher with two decades of experience and currently specialises in art and digital technologies in Glen Innes. Deeply connected to New Dawn since its inception. Through both family involvement and his brother, one of the first clients, Jackson brings insight, empathy, and advocacy to the Board. He values inclusive governance, drawing on his background in education and union activism to help shape New Dawn’s long-term vision.

Board Member

Brad Townsend is an experienced architectural technician with eight years in New Zealand, combining technical expertise with community-focused care. His extensive knowledge of city authority systems and international experience from award-winning projects in Hamburg bring valuable insight to New Dawn’s Centre improvements. As a board member without a loved one attending the Centre, Brad provides a balanced, objective voice in board decision-making
